The Eighth Biennial of Art in Corbera d'Ebre wants to follow the same philosophy that originally led the City Council and the Associació del Poble Vell (Old Town) de Corbera d'Ebre to bring about the First Biennial in 2009, which was to raise awareness of Poble Vell de Corbera d'Ebre through Culture. At the same time, it is intended to be a space for reflection and a tool for the dissemination of Human Rights, and to show through art, the different trends in contemporary artistic creation.

II Biennal de Corbera d'Ebre

Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The  VIII Biennial of Corbera d'Ebre - Human Rights 2025 follows the same line as former biennials, this edition has chosen the 11th and 12th articles of the Universal Human Rights Declaration of the year 1948, and the church of St Pere in the Poble Vell has been its centre.

On this occasion, there are more than thirty artists of diverse disciplines participating, with the same aim, to denounce through art, the injustices that are done with false accusations to harm persons, with arbitrary detentions and judgements lacking fairness.

Coinciding with this Biennial, this year we commemorated the 30th anniversary of ‘The Alphabet of Freedom’ which was inaugurated in the Summer of the year 1995, when a numerous group of artists materialised within the Poble Vell all the letters of the alphabet. Two years later, writers and poets were added to the project and all this collective work has been named: The Alphabet of Freedom - Written Message..
