The Seventh Biennial of Art in Corbera d'Ebre wants to follow the same philosophy that originally led the City Council and the Associació del Poble Vell (Old Town) de Corbera d'Ebre to bring about the First Biennial in 2009, which was to raise awareness of Poble Vell de Corbera d'Ebre through Culture. At the same time, it is intended to be a space for reflection and a tool for the dissemination of Human Rights, and to show through art, the different trends in contemporary artistic creation.

II Biennal de Corbera d'Ebre

Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The VII Biennial of Corbera d'Ebre - 2023 human rights follows the same philosophy as in the previous biennials: continue working through art to denounce any action that goes against the rights of the people.

EQUALITY AND GENDER

Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedom without any distinction of race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.

EQUALITY AND GENDER is the title of this VII Biennial of Art - Corbera d'Ebre - Human Rights. From the Poble Vell Association of Corbera d'Ebre we considerer this theme important to give visibility, through art, to so much widespread injustice.

The purpose of this Biennial, as the same with the previous ones, is to denounce the lack of respect for human rights.

The exhibition space is the old church of St. Peter, Poble Vell, the old part of the village, an emblematic space and of historical interest, as it was so badly punished by the Battle of the Ebre in 1938.

In this VII Biennial there are 40 participants of diverse artistic disciplines, many of the from the Terres de l'Ebre, as it is intended to diffuse the work of these creative artists that live and work here. Moreover, there are also artists present, that have come from various parts of the world.
