The Fourth Biennial of Art in Corbera d'Ebre wants to follow the same philosophy that originally led the City Council and the Associació del Poble Vell (Old Town) de Corbera d'Ebre to bring about the First Biennial in 2009, which was to raise awareness of Poble Vell de Corbera d'Ebre through Culture. At the same time, it is intended to be a space for reflection and a tool for the dissemination of Human Rights, and to show through art, the different trends in contemporary artistic creation.

The fourth Biennial Art Exhibition on Human Rights held in Corbera d'Ebre has in this occasion, chosen the 19th and 27th articles of the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which refer to Freedom of Expression and Culture..
The old church of St. Pere, in the Poble Vell will hold once again more than 120 pieces of art work by 40 artists. Included among these artists, nine are from Arraïls (Matarranya), a group who have been invited to participate in this exhibition.
Diverse ways of understanding art are represented in different techniques and formats showing, as in previous exhibitions, reflections from the art world on the concern we have of today's problems throughout our society.
As always we continue to find solutions but we believe that Culture is one of the chief ways to obtain justice in our society. Freedom of Expression is also indispensable as it is one of the few mechanisms we can use to solve problems, and try to change the world. As in the previous exhibitions, the artists have participated in a mural of 480 x 360cm with 48 individual pieces, each one measuring 60 x 60cm.

This year's Biennial coincides with the 20th Anniversary of The Alphabet of Freedom in which a group of artists placed the 28 letters of this Alphabet within the Poble Vell of Corbera D'Ebre. Two years later, writings and poems were added to these letters by authors and poets and it was commemorated as a monument to Peace.
As in every Biennial exhibition organisers still think strongly about what they do in spite of the problems and the lack of resources, and they continue to think and work in this way to help obtain a better world.
