The first Art biennial in Corbera d'Ebre aspires to be a space for reflection and a means of spreading Human Rights through art. This first biennial will be made up of ten exhibitions which will be held in different spaces within Poble Vell in Corbera d’Ebre.

The first Art biennial in Corbera d'Ebre aspires to be a space for reflection and a means of spreading Human Rights through art.

This first biennial will be made up of ten exhibitions which will be held in different spaces within Poble Vell in Corbera d’Ebre.

• ÀFRICA (Africa)
Six letters with which to reflect on the reality of the continent.
• DONES OCULTES (Hidden Women)
Five plastic artists give their veiwpoint concerning the societies which marginalise and exploit women merely for being female.
• DRETS HUMANS (Human Rights)
The contradiction between the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and reality.
• PAU (Peace)
An installation mounted in the former cemetery in Poble Vell.
• EXILI (Exile)
Three artsits express their views on exile.
• ENTENDRE L'ALTRE (Understanding the other)
Communication through art. A pictoral dialogue between different artists.
• NEGRA NIT (Black Night)
An installation which exposes those with power.
• ABECEDARI DE LA LLIBERTAT (The Alphabet of Freedom)
Twenty-five artists have worked with the common goal of peace and justice to create an alphabet, laid out throughout Poble Vell.
• PROU (Enough)
Ten cubes, each measuring 2m on each side and which face different cardinal points, have been painted by different artists in a critique of war.
• MIRADES (Visions)
A photographic route around Poble Vell in which the terrible consequences of war are captured.

In parallel with these exhibitions, during the days of the biennial a wide range of activities (such as conferences, cinema, concerts, etc.) will take place in other spaces in Corbera d'Ebre under the theme of Human Rights.

The vernissage will be on the 29 of June, coinciding with the festival of Sant Pere, the patron saint of Corbera d'Ebre. The biennial will finish on the 11 of September, Catalunya´s national day.
