The «Freedom Alphabet» project came abut as a result of a collective work completed in Poble Vell de Corbera d'Ebre in 1995 and is made up of twenty-five works which represent the alphabet theme.

Just as the letters may be combined to form words and ideas human beings too need to work together because with a little help from everybody we can fulfil great goals like our current goal of bringing about a more just society for everyone.

The guiding principle is simple but fundamental to human progress: words must always come before force and the letters are the basis of words which must be used to bring about understanding and co-operation. Based on this idea, twenty-five artists willing to work together for peace and justice wanted to create the «Freedom Alphabet» project and today its works comprise those held in Poble Vell de Corbera d'Ebre.

In 1997 various writers and poets created the words and the letters of the Alphabet to go with the sculptures. The overall result was called «the Freedom Alphabet - a written message».

Freedom Alphabet - A Written message

The Freedom Alphabet – Written Message, is also a photographic demonstration which has been shown in various places such as Barcelona, Tarragona, Reus and Maó.
The exhibition holds 32 photographs 50x70cm framed with glass. It can go together with other photography of Corbera d'Ebre before and during the Battle of the Ebro. These works can be asked by any civic organisation or town council that would be interested in exhibiting it.

This exhibition has a small economic cost of mounting and transport. For more information, please contact the Associació del Poble Vell.
